sweet swimmers

We've started to go for family swims on Tim's day off. It's a great chance to get 'Ellie Bellie' used to the water at an early age, and to help Maia get more comfortable getting around with water wings on. Not to mention that it's also just plain fun to take these girlies in the water. It always amazes me how long they want to stay in, even at Eliana's age. She's a little kicker, that one!

On good days, Tim's been getting in a short workout of his own and sometimes I even work in a few lengths for good measure. 'Active' for me this year has been redefined as keeping up with the schedule of my two little ladies. With the exception of a very occasional run, exercise has fallen by the wayside since Eliana's birth... okay, before that! Hmm... do I feel a new year's resolution coming on? Mmmm... probably not! I've been thinking that I need a new sport though. It's tough slugging to get out for runs in the winter -- jogging stroller or not -- and I'm thinking that a team sport like volleyball (or ultimate frisbee if I didn't live so far from the nearest league) is something I'd be more likely to do on a regular basis. More social. Less biting-your-face cold for the chilliest months of the year. Less like work, more like play. Yeah. A team sport I could commit to. Or even something that involved at least one other person, so I've got someone to help kick me in the pants if I'm feeling drawn to the couch instead. So I'm open to ideas if you've got any good ones!
(This was our first trip out with both the girls in the jogging stroller, taken in October.)
