four months

Hi everyone. Eliana here. I've taken over mom's keyboard for a moment to tell you about my life at four months old.

First, can I just say that you might think my one-liquid diet is booooring, but I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, my parents (and their friends) have tried introducing me to something called 'formula' but I'm pretty happy with things the way they are. They keep trying to give me the good stuff (real milk) in a bottle, but I keep telling them, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Also, I find it funny that every other person who makes a comment on my appearance changes the story. One says, "Boy, do you ever look like Maia!" and the next one exclaims, "You looks so different from your sister and so much more like your mom!". Either way, it's all good. I like them both. Besides, I think mom likes the fact that her second kid actually looks related to her.

No matter what you think of our ressemblance (or lack of it), it's clear I'm a different kid than Maia, that's for sure. I wasn't nearly as colicky in the evenings as she was at my age. (That kid sure has lungs!) I have other quirks instead. Where Maia didn't mind being on the go, I'm not so big on transitions. I'm a pretty light sleeper and will wake up pretty easily after a twenty or thirty minute nap. She was sleeping through the night at 2 months. Me? I just started this week. (Mom's elated.) And where my sis started to make strange around 7 months (the expected time), I started at 3 months. But then, if you give me a little time, I am really a pretty smiley kid and will usually come around and flash you a grin or three.

I'm a big fan of Baby Einstein videos. Mom wasn't planning on introducing me to the tube for a while yet, but once I got a taste of that exquisite combination of sound and colour, I was hooked. Now I think she uses them once a day as her shower ticket. She seems pretty big on the "Mozart" one. I think she's really hoping there's merit in the Mozart effect.

Oh, and there is one more rather quirky thing you might enjoy knowing about me. I can't get enough of my fingers. So much so that I'll repeatedly sink them in the back of my mouth, gag myself, smirk a little and do it all again. Mom is really hoping this one will end before I hit my teen years!

So now I'm posting a video of myself trying to explain all of this to you. I'm not sure the words are coming out in a way that you'll understand them. I guess that will take a little time. For now, to the next task on my to-do list: rolling over!
