more joy
For those keen enough to check the blog for an update, here are a few more photos of our new addition to the family!
Oma and Opa spent Thursday to Saturday here, helping out in all kinds of ways and simply enjoying the new little package. I love this photo of shared delight.
Since we definitely don't need more baby clothes (we got spoiled with Maia!), mom and dad bought a gorgeous little bassinet for our living room, so I have somewhere to lay the babe upstairs and downstairs. Got to love a reason not to have to climb the stairs these days... and such a sweet and frilly reason too!
Eliana did not love her first bath. The neat thing about her is that she's so easy to soothe. Just as soon as she has a sleeper on, she is one content kiddo. Could this be my easygoing child....?
Maia was dying to hold Eliana before she and her dad left for church this morning. "Ellie" and I had a great couple of hours together on a rainy morning. I had some much desired time for reading and journaling, and she... well... she kept to her usual routine: eat, poop, sleep.
Our marvelous midwife Rebekah stopped by the house for the second of three visits to the house this morning. Among other things, she weighed Eliana in her 'fish scale' since she's expected to be at her lowest weight about now. 8 pounds 1 ounce... and this is good! I guess it means she's only lost about 5% of her birth weight, and now that she's on 'mommy's milk diet' (yes, I am the milk lady) she should be on her way back up again. All is well with her health, and I don't take that for granted. When there are literally thousands of things that could go wrong and don't, I consider that a miracle.
These are days full of joy...
