eliana joy

She has arrived! (No, it's not a he!) And she's a beautiful and perfect gift.

Eliana means "my God has answered me" in Hebrew. And He certainly has. And Joy... well, she has brought us lots of that already.

For those who love the details... May 15... 8:30 am... 8'6 pounds... 20 inches... about 10 hours labour (the last half of which was intense but much quicker than Maia!). Tim and I are finding it kind of ironic that with both pregnacies, I can't tell you how many times I was told I would be having a boy, and a small one at that. And both times, we were delighted with a nice big girl! (I know some of you who went out to buy boy clothes are still wrapping your heads around that one.)

We're all doing really well. Well enough to come home yesterday afternoon where we could rest better than at the hospital. Yesterday and today have been beautiful days -- both outside and in our spirits. Tim couldn't be a more wonderful and peaceful dad. (He was a great birth partner through the labour and actually delivered Eliana as he did with Maia.) And big sister Maia is even more adoring than we expected. Very sweet on her new little sis. Our midwife already came by the house first this morning and all is looking well with our little addition. We're feeling very blessed.
