mocha with mo

musings of a mildly moronic musician mommy

Tuesday, October 30

from the mouth of this child

So much of what Maia says is an imitation of what she's heard. And then every now and then she puts words together that remind us that she is clearly her own person. Here are a few recent examples.

Mom: Hey, we both have an apple. Let's do "cheers"!
Maia: Just eat it.

_______________________________________________________

Tim: Maia, would you like some yogurt now?
Maia: Yogurt sounds great.
Tim (to Monica): I'm so not ready for her to talk like an adult.

_______________________________________________________

When Maia first started counting to ten, she would say, "One, two, free, four, five, sick, seven, eight, nine, TEN!" And if you ask her how old she is, she will tell you she's two. With one exception.

When Oma came to visit last month, Maia wasn't feeling very well.

Oma: Maia, are you sick?
Maia: No, SEVEN!

Today, while Maia was drawing, part of our conversation went as follows...

Monica: Hey Maia, what are you drawing?
Maia: A man.
Monica: Is it a big man or a little man?
Maia: A big man, actually.
...
Monica: Are you ready to eat?
Maia: Actually, [I'm] colouring.

ACTUALLY?!? What two year old says that?

Here's the video of our conversation for a laugh...

oh my... that was SO funny, I actually laughed OUT loud, I am sure Tim & Phil will think I have lost it. I must admit that my favourite will be always be when I hear her say "ni'da"
