new milestones... that I'm so not ready for
Guess who figured out how to let herself out of the house today?

The funny part (or not so funny, depending on your point of view) is that I thought because Tim was on the phone downstairs it was safe for me to go upstairs to shower as long as I just put a gate at the bottom of the stairs. Then, just as I was about to jump in the tub, I heard a faint voice greet someone outside: "Hello!" A surprised adult voice replied, "Oh, hello..." Then that little familiar voice again: "Hello!" That's when I realized she'd gotten out.
Seems it's not so much the climbing of the stairs I need to be concerned about anymore. Yeah, I wasn't ready for that new milestone.
Reminds me of last week, when I had my friend Steph's 19 month old twins for the day to help give her a little break. I heard one of the boys crying when he woke from his nap. I think my heart skipped a few beats when I went upstairs to get him. There was Aidan, standing at the top of the stairs. Seems he'd figured out how to climb out of the playpen. Little escape artist.

Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?
Time to get my 22 month old into a toddler bed before she becomes Aidan's partner in crime!
