the leaves next door

Our sweet neighbour girls next door practically pounce on Maia whenever she comes into view. It's darling really. They have a sister who is a few months younger so I think they find it engaging to see what their little sis will be doing in a short while.

Today Maia squealed in delight as she watched them toss piles of leaves over their heads, and it didn't take long before she began to imitate them. I think her love of autumn is helping me overcome my lament of the end of summer.

she's gorgeous and delightful, and i didn't really catch the going of summer. i've been wondering that myself, where it went and how autumn seems to have snuck up on us! It's beautiful, though, and it means Christmas is just around the corner!

Oh how I miss the Autumn! It's hard to believe that it's already that time of year... my life is so backward now... as I am basking in the spring here in New Zealand. Our garden is growing like mad and the lettuce is ready for picking. But I miss you guys so much and wish I had a magic carpet so that I could fly "home" to have a taste of each season.

    P.S. I love the photos!
